Counselling for Children, Adolescents and Their Families
Childhood and adolescence are marked by many changes. Significant life events such as changing schools or the birth of a new sibling can have troubling effects on a child’s feelings and behaviour. Most often this will pass with time and family support. However, if your child seems unusually sad, anxious or aggressive for a long period of time and this is disrupting to your family life or interfering with your child’s ability to cope with everyday tasks, it will be a good idea to seek professional counselling.
We will help your child or teen to understand, identify and reduce the symptoms of the underlying illness. The first step will be to assess and diagnose the problems and to create an atmosphere that allows the child and his or her family to feel accepted, respected and safe. We will then work together in supporting your child, teen and entire family in making the changes you are hoping for.
